Pusher Seal

A pusher seal, also known as a cartridge seal, is a type of mechanical seal that is commonly used in centrifugal pumps and other rotary equipment. The pusher seal is designed to prevent fluid leakage from the pump along the rotating shaft. The pusher seal operates by creating a hydrodynamic film between the two seal faces, which reduces friction and wear between the seal faces. The hydrodynamic film is created by the fluid being pumped, which is circulated around the seal faces by the rotation of the shaft. Pusher seals are commonly used in applications where the fluid being pumped is corrosive, abrasive, or otherwise challenging for mechanical seals. They are also widely used in applications where reliability and ease of installation are important.
